Ralts, Ralts, and more Ralts!

SO. What's the deal here?

Hi there! My name is Melody and I am (self-proclaimed) the world's largest ralts fan! Over the past five years I have collected what might be the worlds largest ralts collection in the world - or at least one of them. This website is here half to showcase what I have, and have to share the knowledge I have gained and continue to gain for this lovely friendly evolution line :)

Coding is not my strong suit - this is something that I will slowly be working on for a while. I have a weebly for this technically already started but due to the state of the internet, neocites feels like a better fit, even if it will be harder to setup, yaknow? Any tips or guides would be GREATLY appreciated.

Ralts? Really?

Yep! So backstory time - Imagine being 7 at summer camp and you see a group of (frankly terrifying) 13 years olds all huddled around two weird plastic boxes. You trundle over there and peek your head over to see what they are doing. One has a fun Mario game and the other has something that is beyond captivating - Pokemon Ruby. I was INSTANTLY hooked. I spent all summer,- Between playing in the sandpit, cheating older kids out of money at UNO, and failing at making boondoggle - watching these boys send out their monsters and run around a pixelated world like nothing I had seen before. I apprently mentioned it and the GBA SP so much that, come a family trip to visit my uncle, LO AND BEHOLD, A GBA SP... and Mario. Now dont get me wrong mario 3 for the gba is fantastic and I sunk so many hours into that thing, but it was a couple months later when I finally got my hands on Pokemon Ruby and my life was, cheesy or not, changed forever.

The sheer amount of time I sunk into that game, and every subsequent game since is more than I would admit to anyone who isn't already deep into the hobby (though if you are here are probs getting close to that :P ). A lot, to say the least. :D

the love for ralts though, starts because of Wally. I love Wally he is such a fantastic little dude, and I was so so so charmed at 8 years old through the whole catching a ralts tutorial. It made me like Wally yeah, but it made me LOVE ralts, becoming so interested in this cute little dude. Even my first playthough, where understanding the mechanics of the game were - well. Shaky at best - I remember spending an hour or two just to find and catch ralts. I love the dex entries, I love the design, I love the evolutions, I love it all.

Despite the love of the games, I actually detested the cards until 2016. Idk, something being A young girl who was already a nerd about video games and books, card games were a step too far. I hated the attitude the boys in my school who played (and it was really only boys at that point) had about girls who were nerdy, and about tcgs. Loved the art, and I do remember stealing some of my siter's cards she got in 2nd grade at one point - but it just wasn't in the cards -HAH- for me at that point.

2016 rolls around though. I'm in my second year of college, the final months of gen six are rolling through, and I'm getting off the shuttle to go to the store. I needed a break from everything and wanted, more than the destination tbh, a bit of quiet night scenery. But since I don't have a car that means a trip to the one destination my college town had, the Walmart. Walking through, wasting time for the shuttle to come back and what do I see? Steam Siege pack, gardevoir right on the front. I buy it, bringing it back to my dorm, and open it. The art is fantastic and more importantly, there in the back is the true pull of the pack for me: Gardevoir spirit link. I was so overjoyed to have a ralts line card, Had never thought about the fact that ralts and the line even HAD cards.

Over the next couple of months I bought 2 more steam siege packs, but overall forgot about collecting. Spring forward to 2019, I've graduated and looking for a job. have a bit of cash to burn via graduation giftcards and remember the Gardevoir card from years ago, and decide to look for some ralts cards. So, I bought a couple and the journey began.

Since then I have amassed hundreds of cards for various sets, and most importantly, many MANY MANY M A N Y cards for ralts and the line. When I do the official count I'll put it here but i easily have 150-300 ralts, kirlia, gardevoir, wally, and even Gallade cards. Like I don't know who has the biggest amount of ralts line cards in the world, and it doesn't truly matter, but it would be neat to say it's me if it actually is, you know?
